Chandigarh, May 30 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, State Government is running ‘Special ‘Shramik trains’ are being run on a daily basis from various railway stations of the state to send workers willing to return to their home states. In this series, today one ‘Special Shramik train’ was sent from Haryana. Similarly, workers of the neighbouring states of Haryana are also being sent to their home states through buses. He said that workers have made a significant contribution to the progress and development of the Haryana.
He said that realizing the difficulties of these workers, the Haryana Government has made arrangements to send them free of cost to their home states. Today, more than 1600 workers left from Gurugram to their home state in West Bengal by a ‘Special ‘Shramik train’.
Train from Gurugram to Bardhaman (West Bengal)
Today about 1600 people and 152 children were sent from Gurugram to Bardhaman in West Bengal for free of cost. This Special ‘Shramik train’ departed from Gurugram railway station at 6.00 pm.
The thermal scanning of all those workers and their families was done before boarding the train. Workers going to West Bengal were taken to the Gurugram railway station by Haryana roadways buses. Thermal scanning of all the workers who got their registration was done. Only those workers who have not shown symptoms of Corona infection have been sent by this train.
While leaving on the train, the workers and their families and were given a water bottle and packed food and a free ticket by the Haryana government. Not only this, keeping in mind the needs of their children traveling along with them, packets of biscuits and snacks specially prepared for them were also given by the State Government to the children and their parents. Besides this, chocolates were also distributed among children and elders and they were invited to return to Haryana especially Gurugram again.
When the train left for its destination, workers and their family members expressed gratitude towards the State Government by clapping and waving their hands for sending them to their homes safely.
