Chandigarh, May 26 – A cheque amounting Rs. 2 lakh 51 thousand was presented to Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal by Women of self-help groups under Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, Karnal, during his visit to Karnal district today.
The Chief Minister while thanking the women and encouraging them said that women belonging to self-help groups, not only provided financial assistance to their families by making masks and sanitizers to safeguard from this Pandemic, but has also presented an excellent example of social service by making contributions in the Corona Fund. It is an inspiration for all sections of society.
The Chief Minister said that the demand for masks and sanitizers had increased at the time of the onset of global pandemic in the country, and at this time women belonging to self-help groups have significantly contributed to meet the increasing demand for masks and sanitizers. As a result of this, masks and sanitizers have been made available at cheap prices to the general public. This contribution made by these women would not be forgotten.
