Chandigarh, May 26 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the State Government has made arrangements of about 100 special trains to send workers to their home districts, during nationwide lockdown after COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from this, workers are also being sent to the adjoining states by buses. In this hour of crisis, no religion is higher than service to humanity and besides government efforts, social organizations are also coming forward to assist in this noble cause.
Mr Manohar Lal who was on his way from Chandigarh to Karnal today made a short halt at the workers camp being run by MLA Ambala City, Mr Aseem Goyal near the Kingfisher Tourist Resort on the Ambala-Chandigarh National Highway. Mr Manohar Lal appreciated the efforts being made by Mr Aseem Goyal for the welfare of workers.
Mr. Goyal apprised Mr. Manohar Lal that free camp for workers is being organized since May 14, 2020 through 'Mera Aasman Sansthan'. He said that free of cost arrangement of three meals a day, including tea and water have also been made in the camp. Apart from this, workers are also being provided shoes or slippers etc. as per the requirement. He said that regular health check-ups of the workers are also conducted in the camp and if any worker requires medical treatment, facility of ambulance service has also been made available .
He also informed the Chief Minister that registration is being done to send workers to their home districts. About 800 workers have so far been registered, he said, adding that most of them have been sent to their home towns by trains and buses. He further informed efforts are being made to ensure that no worker has to walk on the road. The State Government is providing every possible assistance to the workers. He said that 'Mera Aasman Sansthan is also supplementing the efforts of the government in this direction.
On this occasion , Secretary of Mera Aasman Sansthan, Mr Ritesh Goyal also apprised the Chief Minister about the social works being done by the organization from time to time.
