Chandigarh March 8- While giving a major relief to small and marginal farmers and beneficiaries belonging to economically weaker sections and below poverty line, the Haryana government has decided to remit stamp duty of Rs 2000 on different types of loan agreements chargeable under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899.
A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of State Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal here today.
The stamp duty will be remitted for small and marginal farmers for taking loan upto Rs 1.60 lakh, women beneficiaries sponsored to banks by the Haryana Women Development Corporation under their schemes of making women self reliant, beneficiaries of economically weaker section under the Pradhan Mantra Awas Yojana-Urban and National Urban Livelihood Mission and below poverty line beneficiaries/families sponsored by the Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation for loans to the banks.
