Chandigarh, June 3 – In view of the intense heat wave prevailing in the state, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has urged the people to have adequate amount of food and drink cold water when going out for work. He also urged the people to avoid sunlight and stay safe.
In a message issued here today, Mr. Manohar Lal said that these days, the heat wave is on rise in the state and at many places, mercury has crossed 45 degrees so people should avoid going out, if it is not necessary.
It is worth mentioning here that the State Government has issued advisory to people to adopt precautionary measures to stay safe during scorching heat. Apart from this, an action plan has been formulated for different departments under which various departments and other organisations have been asked to assist.
As per the advisory, people should avoid going out in the sun, especially between 12 noon and 3 p.m., and stay in cool places. Use umbrella while going out, wear while colour loose cotton clothes besides using caps, hats and turban. Avoid going outside, if it is necessary to go, take water and glucose along. Keep the person with heat-stroke symptoms in a cool place and keep sponging with cold water and use ice cubes. If the affected person is not recovering from heat stroke, take him to hospital with cooling facilities immediately.
