Chandigarh, May 29 – Chairman of Haryana Traders Welfare Board, Mr. Shiv Kumar Jain said that the Haryana Government is committed to the interests of the traders and in this series, Group Insurance Scheme and Accidental Insurance Scheme will soon be implemented for them.

Mr. Jain gave this information after presiding over fourth meeting of the Board, here today.

He said that in today's meeting, discussion was held on the group insurance scheme for small traders and it was informed that a detailed plan has been prepared by the Excise and Taxation Department, which is in the final phase and will soon be implemented in the entire state. Apart from this, the draft of accidental insurance scheme for traders has also been prepared by the Excise and Taxation Department, and it will soon be implemented.

Mr. Jain said that various issues were discussed in the meeting including setting up of Traders Welfare Fund for the welfare of the state's traders, constituting advisory committees at the district level of the Haryana Traders Welfare Board, installation of CCTV cameras in markets and mandis for the safety of traders, verification of C-Forms at government level, implementation of ‘Samman Yojana’ at the state level and district level for highest taxpayers and issuance of completion certificates of shops, which were built years ago before the government allocated plots in the authorized mandis.

Mr. Jain said that in the last about five years, safe environment for doing business has been made available in the state. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, the State Government has been making all out efforts to provide support to the traders.

Others present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal and other government and non-official members of the Board including Mr. Ratnesh Bansal, Mr. Ravi Saini, Mr. Ram Niwas Garg, Mr. Khairatilal Singla and Mr. Vijay Gupta.

Chandigarh May 29: Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh directed the officers to ensure that the monitoring of defect liability of contractors is conducted in a proper manner and said that those contractors who give quotations much less than the fixed rate, samples of their construction material for the quality control should be taken at regular intervals. In case, the samples failed to meet the required parameters, work should not be allotted to such contracts and the tenders be invited afresh.

Rao Narbir Singh was presiding over a review meeting of senior officers of the Department here today.

He directed that meeting of Executive Engineers and Superintending Engineer of all 11 circles of the Department should be convened at regular intervals. Besides, instructions should be given to them for effective monitoring of defect liability. It was decided that next meeting of Executive Engineers and Superintending Engineers would be held in Sector-1, Panchkula at 11 am on June 4, 2019. Thereafter, the second meeting would be held at Gurugram on June 20, 2019.

The Minister directed that road projects whether of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) or State Highways, the work on which is being delayed due to the want of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Forest or Environment Department, such cases should be taken up with the officers of the concerned department on priority basis. The Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has also taken a stringent view over delay in clearance of such files.

Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Mr Alok Nigam, Engineer-in-Chief Mr Rakesh Manocha and Technical Advisor Mr Vishal Seth were also present in the meeting.
