Chandigarh, April 14– Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal today called upon the Youth and players of the State that while following the path of social service shown by the architect of the Indian Constitution Bhimrao Ambedkar, they should come forward to serve society and make social service their ideal in this hour of crisis.
The Chief Minister was addressing the people during the live telecast of 'Haryana Aaj' programme here today. He paid homage to Babasaheb Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary. He said that as Babasaheb Ambedkar waged a spirited battle for social harmony, similarly in this time of the Corona crisis, we all have to fight with the same spirit. I am sure we will win.
He said that Ambedkar had integrated the Indian society through the Constitution. He gave credit to Ambedkar for adding the Ashoka Chakra, a symbol of peace in our National flag. He also paid homage to Iron man Vallabhbhai Patel and said that he ensured political unity by integrating more than 550 princely states.
He said that in this hour of crisis, we should come forward to serve the society with the ideal that society is our family and we are an integral part of it and it is our duty to serve it.
The Chief Minister said that Babasaheb Ambedkar dedicated his life for the upliftment of unprivileged and labourers. He said that the Babasaheb Ambedkar always followed the path of harmony, service and dedication. To end discrimination and to bring social awareness were the twin principles of social harmony of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
He said that following the same principles, it is necessary to bring social awareness in this fight against Corona virus. He said that presently adhering to the norms of social distancing and lockdown is the key to stop the virus spread.
He said that as the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had already announced to extend the Nationwide lockdown till May 3, while till April 20 every state will be minutely observed on the efforts made to tackle the Corona situation and further the states that were successful in controlling the spread of virus till April 20 will be allowed to resume economic and industrial activities in a restricted manner, therefore Haryana will be making every possible effort to keep the Corona graph stable. He said he is hopeful that after April 20, State would be able to start the economic and industrial activities in a phased manner.
Reiterating the seven sacred vows, given by the Prime Minister, Chief Minister appealed to the people to abide them rigorously. The seven vows include taking care of elderly in the house, especially those who are already on medication and are more vulnerable, ensuring strict adherence of lockdown and social distancing norms and using face masks even if they are homemade, following the advisory issued by Ayush Ministry on boosting immunity including drinking warm water, downloading the Arogyasetu App and urging others to install the same, helping the needy and offering them food as much as possible, being sensitive towards people working in various industries or professions and giving their salaries. Apart from this, the landlords should not force their tenants to leave the house. Finally respecting and showing gratitude towards the medical professionals and all those providing essential services.
The Chief Minister said that during the lockdown period, we must show solidarity and discipline in our fight against Corona. He again expressed hope that the soon normalcy will return and Corona will be defeated in Haryana and will be eradicated from the country.
