Chandigarh, November 6 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal today announced that the State Government will bear the travel expenses of the devotees of Haryana, visiting Gurdwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. The Sikh community and various Sikh associates have welcomed Chief Minister’s announcement.
The Chief Minister made this announcement during the interaction with media personnel after f the session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha got concluded, here today. Sharing more information, the Chief Minister said that from Haryana, about 5500 devotees will go by bus and by train to attend the celebrations of 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji and the fare of which will be borne by the State Government.
On June 3, 2016, the Haryana Government had organized a state level programme to mark 300th martyrdom year of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in Yamunanagar. Similarly, on February, 12, 2017, the 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated with enthusiasm in in Karnal and on November, 12, 2017 in Yamunanagar. Apart from this, a state-level function to celebrate the 550th Parkash Parv of Sri Guru Nanak Dev at Sirsa on August 4, 2019, the 550th Prakash Parv was organized in Sirsa. In 2017, the state government has also organised a special train for the devotees to visit the Parkash Parv organized in Patna.
