Chandigarh November 19 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that students of other poor families of the state will also get the benefit of meritorious scholarship scheme being provided to scheduled castes and backward classes in the state. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at a programme organized by Ambedkar Samaj Kalyan Sabha on the inauguration of Dr. Ambedkar Bhutal Bhawan, Sector 16, in Karnal on Thursday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs 11 lakh for the construction of the first floor of Dr. Ambedkar Bhawan and to convert the existing library built in the Bhavan building into an e-library.

Wishing the members of the Ambedkar Sabha on the inauguration of the Ambedkar Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar gave a strong constitution to the country. Today, due to our Constitution, the country is politically, administratively and organizationally strong. The Chief Minister said that he considers himself fortunate enough that he had got an opportunity to inaugurate the building named after Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. It is pertinent to mention that the Bhumi Pujan of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bhawan was also done by Chief Minister Manohar Lal on July 8, 2015. More than Rs 50 lakh has been given by the government for construction of this building.

The Chief Minister said that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar's dream was to uplift every poor family and he always worked to help the poor and downtrodden in his life. The present government is also moving forward with the same objective and with the spirit of Antyodaya is working for the welfare of every section of the society. For this, the government has launched several public welfare schemes.

He said that along with the scholarship to the students of poor families, the government is continuously increasing facilities in the field of education, for which education budget has also been increased. Today, youth are getting jobs on the basis of merit in the state as they do not have to bribe anymore to get jobs, said the Chief Minister. At the programme, members of Dr. Ambedkar Samaj Kalyan Sabha welcomed the Chief Minister by honouring him with a turban and they also honoured the Chief Minister and other guests by presenting mementos.

On this occasion Mayor, Municipal Corporation Karnal, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav and Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ganga Ram Punia and other dignitaries were also present in the programme.
