Chandigarh, Aug 9 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the State Government will deposit Rs 6,000 annually to the bank accounts of all the families in the state whose annual income is up to Rs 1.80 lakh.
The Chief Minister was addressing the state level function of Maharishi Bhagirath Jayanti Samaroh organized at Fatehabad today. On this occasion, he made several new announcements for the Odh Samaj.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has started several welfare schemes for poor families, for which they have to pay a nominal premium. But many times, the poor family is unable to pay the premium due to which they do not get the benefit of the schemes. The government is going to start a new scheme under which Rs 6,000 per annum will be deposited in the bank accounts of families with annual income up to Rs 1.80 lakh so that premium of insurance schemes of Rs 12 and Rs 330 per annum, pension scheme and crop insurance will be paid automatically from the bank accounts of the needy families.
On the demand of the Odh Samaj to build Bhagirath Temple or Dharamshala in Kurukshetra, the Chief Minister said that the society should identify 500 square yards land anywhere for Dharamshala on which the government will build Dharamshala. He announced Rs 31 lakh for Bhagirath Odh Samaj Dharamshalas in Fatehabad, Hisar and Tohana. The Chief Minister also announced to name the Ashok Nagar Chowk in Fatehabad after Maharishi Bhagirath. He also announced to build Odh Bhavan in three villages. He said that the previous government had given plots of 100 square yards each to the poor families but till date those families have not been able to get possession of these plots. He said that by making the list, all the eligible families will be given possession of their plots. He said that the government will give 5 additional marks while giving government job to the children of such families, whose family does not have any government job.
The Chief Minister to give stability to the nomadic tribes, the government had set a target of providing housing facility to 9,000 families of the odh samaj under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which 4,000 families have so far been approved to provide permanent housing facility. The remaining 5,000 families will also be provided housing facility soon. He said that special attention will also be given to the education and health of their children by bringing the Samaj into the mainstream.
The Chief Minister said that this is the first government which is providing Rs 7500 to 9000 monthly under Saksham Yojana to youths, who do not get employment after completing education. Similarly, Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 are being provided to school students under the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. Rs 51,000 are being given under the Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojana for the marriage of the daughter of a Scheduled Caste family. Free gas cylinders are being provided to all the poor families of the state. So far, gas cylinders have been delivered to 8.5 lakh families in Haryana. The Chief Minister directed to provide gas cylinders to families, which are still deprived of gas cylinders, within 48 hours. He said that it is the commitment of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister and it should be fulfilled at all costs.
The Chief Minister said that pucca roads, sheds, water management and boundary walls are being made for all the cremation grounds and graveyards in the state at a cost of Rs 748 crore. The work has also been completed up to 70-80 per cent.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has started a campaign to clean the Ganga and its tributaries under the Namami Gange scheme with crores of rupees, which is one of his ‘Bhagiratha’ efforts. He called upon the people to cooperate in creating a new identity of India in the world by making the Swachhta Abhiyan successful in the country and in the state. He said that the government has launched campaign for maximum plantation for environmental protection. Every person must plant at least one plant. He said that Paudhgiri Yojana was also started to connect school children to this campaign, under which incentives are also given to students for taking care of their planted plants for three consecutive years.
The Chief Minister said, “Haryana was infamous due to low birth rate of daughters. The government launched Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, due to which the number of girls born per thousand boys has increased from 850 to 933. We have to take this number to 1000”. He said that everyone in the state should rise above casteism and adopt the spirit of ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek’.
BJP State President and MLA Tohana, Mr. Subhash Barala said that the people of the state have seen the tenure of the previous Governments and their Chief Ministers, and also the tenure of the present government. The present Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has thought of the welfare of the poor and needy in the true sense. He said that the government had fulfilled all the expectations with which the people had given the BJP a chance to form the government in 2014. “In the next term, we will work more strongly and make the state prosperous”, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Mr. Krishna Kumar said that the Scheduled Castes and the underprivileged were the most oppressed during the previous governments. He said that following the principle of Antyodaya, the present State Government ensured that the benefit of various welfare schemes should reach to the end beneficiary. The government implemented a system of distributing ration to consumers through the biometric system so that no ration depot holder could cheat the poor. Similarly, houses have been provided to the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
