Chandigarh, August 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that Faridabad district has done commendable work to put up a tough fight against the on-going COVID-19 Pandemic and currently the doubling rate of the district has reduced to 59 days, which is very reassuring.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister directed the officers that more and more testing should be done to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases. Besides this, as much as possible, treatment should be done with plasma therapy also.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the review meeting of arrangements being made for the containment of COVID-19 infection in Faridabad today.
During the meeting, he directed the officers to identify hotspot areas of the district and ensure necessary implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in such areas. He said that to ensure least number of casualties, all necessary arrangements should be made and timely treatment should be provided. Similarly, sufficient number of oxygen beds should also be arranged and patients should be provided oxygen as soon as required.
He said that more and more programmes should be organized to create awareness among the people. Police should distribute masks and flowers to people who do not use masks so as to make them aware and realize that wearing masks is very important for their own and for the health of their family. He said that if any person is challaned for not wearing mask, then five masks should be provided to them.
The Chief Minister said that the Department of AYUSH should distribute medicines to boost immunity and for this, help of Anganwadi workers can also be taken.
Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Yashpal, while apprising the Chief Minister about the arrangements being made for containment of COVID-19 in the district, said that door-to-door surveillance of every family has been done atleast four times. He said that this surveillance helped in identifying suspected patients and providing them timely treatment and also quarantining them. He informed that all departments namely Health Department, ESI, Smart City and Municipal Corporation have done commendable work in combating COVID-19 Pandemic.
He said that at present the recovery rate in Faridabad has reached 89 percent. He said that on an average testing of around 2000 to 2500 people is being conducted on daily basis. Different centres have been set up for this. Apart from this, four mobile vans have also been deployed for providing testing facilities in different areas.
He apprised the Chief Minister that psychological counselling of COVID-19 patients is also being done by Psychologists for maintaining mental health of the patients.
Door- to-Door survey is being conducted in 20 major colonies of the city. He said that Faridabad district is now moving towards a much better condition and recovery rate has improved significantly.
During this visit, Chief Minister also flagged off a modern machine brought from Italy for cleaning roads as part of Swachhta Abhiyan. The cost of this modern machine is about Rs. 2.50 crore. This machine has a unique feature of cleaning the roads without blowing dust. Apart from this, this machine is designed with such technology that it performs sprinkling of water along with cleaning. The cost of this machine for one year will be borne by MLA of Faridabad, Mr. Narender Gupta.
On this occasion, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishanpal Gurjar, Haryana Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma, Mayor Faridabad, Ms. Suman Bala, MLA Badkhal, Mrs. Seema Trikha, MLA Faridabad, Mr. Narender Gupta, Political Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Ajay Gaur and other senior officials were present.
