- Chandigarh, March 23—The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has quashed reports about differences in the state cabinet, and said that the entire cabinet is united and collectively taking decisions for the welfare of people of the state.
- It has been the culture and tradition of BJP to sit together and discuss issues and then take decision on them, and the state Cabinet is sticking to this tradition, he added.
- The Chief Minister was replying to questions of media persons regarding the secret meetings held with ministers after he unveiled a statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Sector 11-15 Chowk in Panchkula on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, today.
- Addressing the gathering after unveiling the statue, the Chief Minister said the slogan ‘learn to sacrifice you life for nation’ was given during the freedom struggle, but today after Independence, there is need for slogan ‘learn to live for the country’.
- This day is glorious and historical, because it was on this day in 1931 that Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru sacrificed their lives for the nation. The nation is our motherland and it is as dear to us as our mother.
- Today, we are independent only because of the supreme sacrifice made by our freedom fighters, patriots and martyrs. “We got independence after a long struggle and it is our duty to always be ready to sacrifice our lives for the country”, he added.
- The Chief Minister said slogans like ‘Inquilab Zindabad’, ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki’ Jai by the school students had refreshed the memories of Shaheedi Diwas. It would be a true tribute to the martyrs if we learn to live for our country by rising above ‘Me’, ‘My Home’ and ‘My Family’.
- The Chief Minister also visited the exhibition organised on this occasion. He appreciated the efforts made of Panchkula MLA, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta, and Chairman of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Jagriti Manch, Mr. Jagdish Bhagat Singh, to name this Chowk after Shaheed Bhagat Singh and for installing his statue.
- MP Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
- Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the listing of M/s Tara Chand Logistic Solutions Ltd. online with National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. Congratulating representatives of the company, he said earlier the scope of the company was limited, but after getting connected online, the entire country would now look upon it.
- Haryana is emerging as an economic and industrial power hub of the nation. The state’s economy is robust. More than 15 National Highways pass through Haryana which would be beneficial for companies like M/s Tara Chand Logistic Solutions Ltd.
- He said the economic strength of Haryana could be gauged from the fact that more than 50 per cent of four-wheelers and 60 per cent of two- wheelers in the country are produced in Haryana.
- The geographical location of Haryana is such that it is surrounded by National Capital Region on three sides and Haryana can avail itself of the benefit as a big consumer market from about five crore people of Delhi and the nearby areas. Therefore, Haryana is an ideal state for retailers.
- Gurugram and Faridabad are main industrial districts of the state and a logistic hub may be set up in Panchkula as it is connected with Himachal Pradesh, he added.

- Chandigarh, March 23—The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today unfurled the national flag on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas in the village of Rohnat in Bhiwani district after 70 long years, and lifted the spirits of the villagers by bringing them into the mainstream. He unfurled the national flag along with senior citizen of the village, Mr Talaram.
- Speaking on this occasion, he said a Shaheed Smark would be constructed in the village over four acres and history of the village would be included in the curriculum in the ensuing academic session.
- Besides, the government would bear the expenses for producing an inspiring film based on the history of the village, and constitute a Rohnat Freedom Trust with Rs 1 crore to provide the facility of free treatment to persons above 60 years of age in the village. The Ayushman Bharat scheme with free treatment facility of up to Rs 5 lakh announced by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, would be implemented from October 2.
- Being the first Chief Minister to unfurl the national flag in Rohnat, he said, “Today, March 23, is the happiest day for the people of this village. Just as people of the country celebrate Independence by lighting lamps of ghee, the people of this village should also light such lamps to celebrate Independence.”
- In future, the village would not feel isolated from the mainstream. Whenever the villagers would need him, he will be there with them, he said.
- The Chief Minister made several announcements, including construction of the boundary walls of four ponds in the village, reconstruction of a health centre, laying of drinking water pipeline, renovation of water works, construction of road, construction of two main entrance gates, boundary wall of Nehru Park, construction of nullah and renovation of the cremation ground.
- Earlier, he inaugurated Jan Aushadhi Drug Store, park-cum-vyayamshala, gourav patt and library and launched the website of the village. Apart from this, he laid foundation stone of a bus que shelter, an anganwadi centre and an overbridge on the road from Rohnat to Jamalpur on Sundar Canal. He also launched the mobile ATM van of Cooperative Bank, Bhiwani.
- Recalling history, Mr Manohar Lal said on May 29, 1857, several residents of village Rohnat had sacrificed their lives in the First War on Independence. The village was punished by the British Raj which stripped the entire population of their landholdings besides unleashing the tyranny on men who were crushed under road-rollers.
- The Chief Minister honoured senior citizens of village namely, Rajkumar, Ameer Singh, Tekram, Pandit Risal Singh and Talaram by presenting them shawl.
- Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, said the people of Rohnat had shown bravery and killed 11 British officers in Hansi. Similarly, people of Mangali village had killed 12 British officers in 1857. Today, the present state government has brought the village into the mainstream, he added.
- Chandigarh, March 23 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that an Authority would be constituted at the state-level for rejuvenation of all ponds in the state. Similarly, Shivdham scheme would be launched for renovation of all rambagh and graveyards in the state.
- The Chief Minister gave this information while interacting with media persons, after unfurling the national flag in the village of Rohnat in Bhiwani district, today.
