  • Chandigarh June 20: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the State Government has successfully cracked the vicious circle of corruption prevailing from top to bottom in previous regimes with the introduction of e-governance. The people of the State have accepted the present government as a corruption-free government, he added.  
  • Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the renowned personalities of different walks of life during an Intellectual Meet in Panchkula near here today.
  • Member of Parliament Mr Ratan Lal Kataria, Minister of State for Labour and Employment Mr Nayab Singh Saini, MLAs namely Mr Gian Chand Gupta and Mrs Latika Sharma and large number intelligentsia were also present on this occasion.
  • The Chief Minister said though it was a tough task to keep a check on the corruption but after taking the reign of the State, we resolved to root out corruption from all levels and started from our own Ministers and MLAs by administering them pledge that they would not indulge in any corrupt practices. 
  • He said that the State Government has adopted a fair and transparent recruitment system. To reduce the scope of discretion in interview, the marks of interview had been reduced to only 10-12 marks. Now taking a step further, the State Government has scraped the interview process for recruitment to C and D category of posts. He said that earlier, candidates double the number of vacancies was called for the interview and candidates were given marks on this basis of discretion. But we have not only unearthed this ill business but have also sent eight persons behind bars for their involvement.
  • While blaming the previous government for playing with the future of lakhs of contractual employees, the Chief Minister said that today the number of regular employees in the State is almost equal to those employed through outsourcing. He said that to accommodate their people, the previous government framed the regularization policies as per their whims and fancies which were constitutionally incorrect. As a result of this, the High Court has recently scrapped the regularization policy of 2014. Contrary to this, the present State Government is making regular appointments through its recruiting agencies namely Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).
  •  He said that the present State Government did not believe in the politics of castism and is working for the welfare of all sections of the society without any discrimination. He described the 2.5 crore population of the State as his family and said that his government is working with the same spirit. He said that during its tenure so far, the State Government has taken various steps for improving the quality of life of people by bringing about a revolutionary change in the system. Various e-initiatives have been taken so as to ensure that the people get the benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes without any hindrance at their door step. To minimize the human interface, various government schemes and programmes have been made online. He said that the State Government has also made rapid strides in terms of ease of doing business in the State. The State which was at 14th position in 2015 in ease of doing business ranking is now competing for top slot.
  • The Chief Minister exhorted the intelligentsia present on the occasion to apprise the people about the achievement of the State and the Centre government by working with the moto of Know First and Tell Others so as to actively contribute in the nations building. He also asked them to associate themselves with other programmes like Yoga Day, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, and Rahagiri. He said that a mega contact programme has been chalked out on the completion of four years of Centre Government. Under the same series, today’s intellectual meet has been organized. He said that he has so far held one-on-one meeting with several prominent personalities of the society but it is the first occasion when he got an opportunity to meet the intelligentsia on a single platform. He assured that all the genuine suggestions given by them would be considered by the State Government.
  • Chandigarh June 20: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that an Apple Mandi is proposed to be set up over 100 acres of vacant land of HMT, Pinjore. The process has already started for the transfer of about 446 acres of land of shut tractor unit of HMT at Pinjore to the state government.
  • Mr Manohar Lal disclosed this at a question-answer session during an Intellectual Meet held at Panchkula near here today.
  • He said that as the Union Defence Minister, Mrs Nirmala Sitharaman has agreed to set up a defence manufacturing unit in Haryana; efforts would be made to open this unit on the remaining vacant land of HMT Pinjore. On the use of Hindi language in Courts, he said that a consensus has been reached as per which translated version of judgement in Hindi language would be made available to the people so that they could easily understand the same. The translators would be provided by the State Government, he added.
