Chandigarh, July 22- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has extended his greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Hariyali Teej and said that this festival, which falls in the month of Saawan, is considered a celebration of food and drink.
In a message issued here today on the eve of Hariyali Teej, Mr. Manohar Lal said that it is necessary for us to maintain social distancing in all kinds of social, religious and other events even during Unlock-2 keeping in view COVID-19 situation.
He said that the way the people of the State have followed the guidelines on COVID-19 during the Solar Eclipse Fair last month in the holy land of Kurukshetra and Gangajal Abhishek on Shivaratri in the month of Sawan, in the same way; they will have to maintain the same during Hariyali Teej as well. He said that the month of Sawan is considered a holy month as after Hariyali Teej the festival of Rakshabandhan also falls in this month celebrating the bond of brother and sister.
