  • Chandigarh, March 4– The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that during the last three-and-a-half years, his government had not only done well on providing jobs and skilling the youth of the state but also lived up to its credentials of openness, merit, transparency and no nepotism in matters of recruitment.
  • Speaking to media persons here today, Mr Manohar Lal said that since his government assumed office, employment had been provided to 2.03 lakh persons in the private sector, including 1.24 lakh in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
  • Apart from this, investment of Rs 45,000 crore has been made and as a result of the MoUs inked during the Happening Haryana Summit, as many as 136 projects have already been set up with investment of Rs 18,000 crore.
  • Giving details about the skilling of youth, the Chief Minister said that out of the total target of 2.27 lakh, 1.17 lakh youth had been trained in different sectors, and, out of these, 37,134 had been placed in keeping with their specific areas of skilling.
  • In addition to the Haryana Skill Development Mission, a Skill Development University has also been set up in the state to train the youth in about 800 different trades and sectors.
  • The Chief Minister said that appointment letters had been given to 17,300 candidates recommended by the state recruiting agencies in a transparent manner. Besides, 28,000 successful candidates would soon be appointed in different departments.
  • Result of the recruitment to about 28,000 posts is pending due to litigation in courts out of the 55,000 posts in various categories advertised by the Haryana Public Services Commission and State Staff Selection Commission since October, 2014. He hoped that the recruitments pending in court would soon be cleared so that appointment letters could be given to the successful candidates.
  • The Chief Minister said that exams for about 10,000 posts had already been advertised but were yet to be conducted. Interviews would not be held as the state had already announced to do away with the system of interviews on Group C and D posts.
  • But in cases where written examination is yet to be held, fresh advertisement would be issued and interviews would not be required to be held. “We have lived up to our credentials of transparency, openness and no nepotism in the recruitment process, he added.
  • The Director General of Information, Public Relations and  Languages Department, Mr Sameer Pal Srow, and Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr Amit Arya, were also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, March 4 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today emphatically said that with the results of assembly elections to three states in North-East, the BJP has expanded its reach, but the Congress seems to have touched the lowest ebb. As compared to the BJP, no political party has ever gained so much influence among the masses during last 70 years, he added.
  • The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference here today.
  • While congratulating the party workers for this victory either on its own or in alliance in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya, he said that changes in the country began in 2014 when Mr Narendra Modi assumed the office of Prime minister.The impact of BJP has further increased with the election results of three north-eastern states. The fort of the Left in in Tripura has collapsed after 25 years. With two seats going to others in Nagaland, the BJP is on equal footing in Nagaland as it has a majority. In Meghalaya, it is expected that NPP, BJP and others will form the government. Congress will not form government there. Now Congress government has  now confined to four states whereas the Left has only one.
  • He said that BJP has a clear   vision to work in the interest of country and entire country has now understood this. The lotus will again bloom in Karnataka, he added.
  • Referring to the scenario of Tripura where BJP has gained a clear majority, the Chief Minister said that in Tripura, minimum wages   were Rs 105 as compared to over Rs 300 in Haryana. The State of Tripura, which is generating power and exporting it to Bangladesh, has not sufficient electricity for its own consumers. The employees in this state have not yet got the benefit of   fifth and sixth Central Pay Commission. The BJP will follow  the recommendations of seventh Central Pay Commission in Tripura, he added.

  • Chandigarh, March 4 – While continuing its drive to protect the cows, the Haryana Government will soon enact  a stringent law to  punish those found abandoning their milch cows.
  • The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, who was addressing a press conference here today  said that the State government has already enacted 'Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan' Act for  protection of cows. Also, the Government has tagged   cattle in the Gaushalas as it would help in knowing their location. He said that similarly, tagging of cattle kept in the houses would also be carried out so that these are not    abandoned in any situation. Those found abandoning their cattle, a fine of Rs. 5,000  would be imposed, he added.
  • While seeking support of the people in effective implementation of the drive to protect the livestock, the Chief Minister appealed to the people not to abandon their cattle and keep them in their houses as it is not easy for the government alone to protect them.

  • Chandigarh, March 4–The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that we must move forward on the construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna-Link (SYL) Canal rather than politicize the issue. “As we are governed by the Constitution, we must abide by it. We have full faith in the judiciary and would get our due share in the river waters through the SYL”, he added.
  • Addressing a press conference here today, the Chief Minister said that political parties in the state had always politicized the issue of SYL Canal for their petty interests and they are at it again. They know very well that Presidential reference had been lying pending in the Supreme Court for 12 long years and it is the present state government that strongly pleaded the case in the Supreme Court and ensured early hearing.
  • As a result of the efforts made by the present government, the apex court has given its decision in the favour of Haryana. “We have full faith in the Supreme Court and the state would soon get its share of water through the canal which should be constructed at the earliest,” he added.
  • Referring to the water management projects, Mr Manohar Lal said 50 to 100 new ponds would be constructed in the vicinity of the national capital Delhi for getting the ground water recharged. 
  •    The government has also ensured adequate water at the tail-ends for irrigation. Water has reached 293 tails out of the total 300 in the state. The present government has also made infrastructural arrangements for irrigation. The existing capacity of 3,451 cusecs of JLN Canal is being revived at a cost of Rs 300 crore.
  • Earlier, Rs 65 crore was spent on this canal from 2004 to 2014 which resulted in flow of only 1,600 to 1,800 cusecs of water. Now we have reached 2,850 cusecs capacity in this canal.
  • Similarly, lift irrigation projects worth Rs 143 crore have been started in southern Haryana. We have switched over to micro irrigation system which has helped save 30 per cent water as compared to the flood irrigation system. The government is also giving 85 per cent subsidy on mirco irrigation. He said that Micro Irrigation Project costing Rs. 24.65 crore for Har Khet Ko Pani was being implemented to benefit 4872 acre area of 13 districts. He said that the construction of upstream dams i.e. Renuka, Kishau and Lakhwar had been being taken up with Government of India for early completion.
  • The State Pond Management Authority has also been formed for the protection, conservation, development and rejuvenation of about 14,000 ponds in the state, he added.
