- Chandigarh, Feb 28--The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that cooperatives must work with the spirit of oneness in northern states of the country and, by working together with the ‘Ek Sabke Liye, Sabke Liye Ek’ spirit, these can grow and bloom.
- The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organised at the National Cooperative Development Corporation in Gurugram today. He, along with the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mr Radha Mohan Singh, inaugurated the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development and unveiled the statue of Laxmanrao, founder of Sehkar Bharti.
- Mr Manohar Lal said last year, the state government celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya and worked with the spirit of Antyodaya. Both Antyodaya and cooperatives converge on aims and objectives. This year, work would be done on cooperatives and these would provide employment to youth, women and encourage small industries.
- Founder of Sehkar Bharti, Laxmanrao Inamdar had laid the foundation stone of this institution on Ganesh Chaturthi in 1978. Just as the ability of a craftsman can be identified with his craft piece, the personality of Laxmanrao Inamdar could be identified with the volunteer prepared by him who is today the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi.
- Speaking on the occasion, Mr Radha Mohan Singh said cooperatives were of national importance and these would play a great role in realising the vision of the Prime Minister to double the income of farmers by 2022.
- The RSS Chief, Dr Mohan Bhagwat, said the name of the Training of Personnel in Cooperative (TOPIC) Institute, Gurugram, had been changed to Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development.
- Those present included the Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr Purshottam Rupala, National President of Sehkar Bharti, Mr Jyotinder Mehta, Guide, Mr Bajrang Lal Gupta, Patron, Mr Satish Marathe, General Secretary, Mr Uday Joshi, Managing Director, National Cooperative Development Cooperation, Mr Sandeep Nayak, and others.
- Chandigarh, Feb 28 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, and the Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel, will felicitate such industries as have engaged apprentices more than five per cent of their total work force as ‘Saksham Sathis’ at a state-level workshop at Gurugram on March 1, 2018. Industries with maximum percentage of apprentices in their respective districts would also be felicitated.
- Stating this here today, a spokesman of Skill Development and Industrial Training Department said that major industry associations in Haryana like ASSOCHAM, FICCI, PHD and CII and their member industries had been invited to the event.
- Launch of Saksham Sathi initiative comes as a part of the Chief Minister’s flagship initiative of Saksham Haryana launched with the mission to provide employment to two lakh youths and achieve grade level competencies for children in government schools.
- Under Saksham Haryana, the state government has set a target of appointing 45,000 apprentices in government and private sector in two years since October, 2017. Against this target, 8,000 apprentices have been engaged by government departments and state public service undertakings, and about 2,000 by the private sector.
- He said that Haryana had been recognised for its efforts in engaging apprentices by the Government of India as a Champion of Change. This award was given based on the maximum number of apprentices per lakh population in the country. The Chief Minister has called upon the citizens of Haryana and leading industries to support government’s initiative of making Haryana Saksham.
- As many as 22 Industries will be felicitated as Saksham Sathi including Labotech Microscopes India Pvt. Ltd., JBM Auto Limited, Escorts Limited, JCB India Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hero Moto Corp Limited, Neel Metal Products Limited, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., Jay Bharat Maruti Limited, Subros Ltd., Zeco Aircon Ltd., Larsen and Toubro Limited, Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd., Aegis Customer Support Services Private Limited, Andritz Hydro Pvt Ltd, UltraTech Cement Limited Unit Panipat Cement Works, Munjal Auto Industries Limited, Asian Paints Ltd., Choudhry Enterprises, Advance Ventilation Pvt. Ltd., ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd. and M/s Chanderpur Works Pvt. Ltd.
- Apprentices are on-the-job trainees for one to three years. They are also paid stipend which amounts to 70-90 per cent of the semi-skilled labour’s wage. Under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, it is mandatory for all establishments to engage apprentices from 2.5 per cent to 10 per cent of their employee strength.
- The entire process of appointment is done via an online portal. The establishments are entitled to get reimbursement of 25 per cent of monthly stipend paid to an apprentice subject to a maximum of Rs. 1,500 per apprentice per month, he added.
