Chandigarh October 16: The Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval to the Amendment Bill — 2020 "Haryana Accountability of Public Finances Act, 2019". This Act may be called the Haryana Accountability of Public Finances (Amendment) Act, 2020 and will come into force on such date, after notifying in its official gazette.

The Draft Bill of Haryana Accountability of Public Finances Act, 2019 was sent to the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Haryana and to the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Haryana for their comments on the provisions contained therein.

Accordingly, the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Haryana and the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Haryana had requested the State Government that the comments of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India should be considered and the necessary amendments in the provisions of Haryana Accountability of Public Finances Act, 2019 be carried out.

Therefore, the observations of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on the "Haryana Accountability of Public Finances Act, 2019" were considered by the Government and accordingly, ‘Haryana Accountability of Public Finances (Amendment) Bill, 2020’ has been prepared.
