Chandigarh September 7: The meeting of High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) held under the Chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today approved purchases of good and items to be procured by various departments upto the limit of Rs. 160 crore.
In the meeting, Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh, Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P. Dalal, Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Minister of State for Archeology and Archives, Sh. Anoop Dhanak also remained present.
The major tenders that were approved in the High Powered Purchase Committee meeting include e-ticketing in Haryana Roadways and large projects of furniture and water purifiers in playway schools. Besides this, approval was also accorded for the purchase of several items for the power Discoms along with inviting the tenders for purchase of Jack Suction Sewer Machines.
E-ticketing to curb theft
Procurement of 4500 e-ticketing POS machines has been finalized for implementation of e-ticketing system in Haryana Roadways. With the implementation of this system, theft of bus ticket cutting will be curbed. Along with this, the number of passengers in the bus can be monitored from the headquarters.
The Chief Minister said that the e-ticketing system would be implemented within the next six months. With the implementation of this system, tickets can be purchased through cash as well as card. CCTV cameras will also be installed in the buses, which will ensure online monitoring as well as security.
Water purifiers to be installed in playway schools
In the meeting, approval for inviting the tender for purchase of furniture and water purifiers for playway schools was also approved. After the approval of this, children coming to 4000 playway schools to be opened in Anganwadi centers across the state, would not only get clean water but would also ensure they remain hale and hearty.
Nod given to buy three phase prepaid electricity meter
The Committee also gave approval for inviting the tender for purchase of three phase prepaid electricity meters for the Power Discoms of the State. These meters will be installed in a planned manner by Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. Besides this, tenders were also approved for purchase of transformers, oil for transformers and various types of electrical wires for Power DISCOMS.
1.20 crore vaccines for the prevention of foot and mouth disease
Tender for purchase of as many as 1.20 crore vaccines was also approved in the meeting, so as to ensure prevention of foot and mouth disease in animals. These vaccines will be provided free of cost to cattle rearer every six months. During the meeting, it was informed that since the year 2019, after the vaccination scheme was introduced this disease in animals has been controlled to a great extent.
Paralympics winners to be honoured
Later while addressing the media persons, Sh. Manohar Lal informed that the players of the state have performed exceptionally well in the Paralympics Games. Haryana players have won 6 medals out of total 19. All these players will be honoured during state-level programme, similar to the state-level felicitation function that was organized for Olympic medalists.
Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. P.K Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. Devender Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar also remained present in the meeting.
