Chandigarh, September 4 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while congratulating all the teachers on the eve of Teachers’ Day said that the ‘Guru-Shishya’ tradition is an essential and a sacred component of Indian culture.
He elaborated on the role of teachers in the society and said that it is only a teacher who contributes to build a civilized society. Sharing his views he said that a teacher moulds the character, potential and future of a person. The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the most important thing about Teachers’ Day is that it is celebrated on the birthday of a great teacher and former President of the country, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
He said that in today's competitive era a teacher plays a crucial role. He especially lauded the teachers' role during the Corona period. He added that in this era of crisis, teachers kept the lamp of knowledge lit by giving classes through virtual mediums. The Chief Minister wished that the ‘Guru-Shishya’ tradition that has been going on for centuries continues to exist in future as well.
