Chandigarh, Sept 15 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal during the Jan Samvad program announced various development projects for the Panchkula including a medical college in Sector 32.
During his direct interaction with the public, the Chief Minister highlighted that in the past five years, around Rs 260 crore has been incurred only in small-scale development projects in Panchkula. In addition, substantial funding has been allocated to national-level initiatives such as the National Fashion Technology Institute and AYUSH AIIMS. He emphasized the uniqueness of this program, which has been organized at over 80 locations and is set to run for 90 days, covering 300 villages and cities.
Connecting with the people, Chief Minister underscored that his government has accomplished more than double the development works in the last nine years compared to the ten-year tenure of the previous Congress government, all within a tighter budget.
The Chief Minister provided an example of fiscal responsibility by mentioning that the new Jhajjar bus stand, initially estimated at Rs 45 crores, was built for only Rs 32 crores, saving Rs 13 crore. He also addressed the issue of corruption, stating that their government aims to ensure that every rupee reaches the intended beneficiary. He credited the use of IT for making government processes more efficient and transparent. Furthermore, he highlighted the distribution of 12.5 lakh new BPL cards in January 2023, rectifying previous issues where ineligible individuals received these cards, leaving the deserving poor without assistance. The scope of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been expanded to include Chiraru Haryana, potentially benefiting around 37 lakh families in the state.
The Chief Minister directly engaged with Panchkula Municipal Corporation councilors to identify and address the most critical issues in their respective wards. He instructed officials to take immediate action on the demands raised by them.
Responding to a request from Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, the Chief Minister announced that the construction of the proposed medical college in Sector 32 Panchkula would be overseen by the HSVP before being transferred to the Medical Education and Research Department, arrangements for Gaushala will be made for the destitute cattle through Animal Husbandry Department and Haryana Gau Sewa Ayog, completion of the incomplete STP in Saketri and the upgrading of the Sector 19 Abhaypur middle school to a multi-storey facility. Additionally, the boundary wall work for the primary school in Sector 15 will be completed.
The Jan Samvad program had a touching moment when, on June 26, a woman and her car got stuckked in the Ghaggar River due to heavy rains. Fifteen boys and one girl from Kharak Mangoli risked their lives to rescue her. The Chief Minister rewarded each of them with Rs 21,000 in cash and a bravery certificate, totaling Rs 3.15 lakh. During the event, certificates for the Old Age Samman Allowance Scheme were distributed to four individuals.
Upon arriving at the Jan Samvad program, local MLA Gian Chand Gupta warmly welcomed the Chief Minister, praising the program for instilling hope and positivity among the people.
