Chandigarh, November 28- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the duration of the main programmes of International Gita Jayanti (IGM) should be at atleast 8 days so that more visitors can attend this holy festival.
In this holy festival, social and religious organizations should ensure maximum participation and efforts should be made to increase the grandeur and divinity of this programme, said Sh. Manohar Lal while speaking during a meeting with representatives of social and religious organizations regarding the IGM-2022 programmes held in Kurukshetra on Monday.
During this, representatives of social and religious organizations shared their suggestions regarding IGM-2022 before the Chief Minister.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that Kurukshetra has social and religious importance in the world. Social organizations working here should make collective efforts to organize IGM programmes.
Citing the example of the Kumbh Mela, the Chief Minister said that programmes should be organized after studying the way social organizations organize programmes at Kumbh Mela at different places.
Sobha Yatra should be taken out
The Chief Minister said that a Shobha Yatra should be taken out during the IGM. Every organization should cooperate in this. He suggested the organizations to organize exhibitions related to various topics like science, Gita, education, sports or yoga at their respective places during IGM. Besides this, all organizations should actively participate in the 'Deepdan' ceremony so that Kurukshetra can give a glimpse of Deepawali on that day, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister also asked to prepare a plan regarding the beautification of the Sannihit Sarovar.
IGM should be organised in a self-sufficient manner
The Chief Minister said that efforts should be made to organize IGM in a self-sufficient manner.
"The government certainly gives every cooperation from its side, along with this the social organizations should also come forward. We should spread the vibe of IGM among the masses so that every section of the society gets enthusiastically involved in the IGM," said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister suggested all the organizations must make a mention of IGM during their other programmes.
Programmes to be organized in the area of 48 Kos
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that during the Geeta Jayanti mahotsav, different programs should be organized in the area of 48 Kos. Yoga etc. should be propagated in these areas. He suggested conducting a discourse on the references related to Lord Shri Krishna and Gita. Apart from this, he also suggested to mention the context of the Gita mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib so that it acts as a bridge in society. There should be a sense of harmony among everyone. Along with this, people from different communities should organize a conference during the Geeta Jayanti festival.
Emphasis should be laid on ensuring the prosperity of Kurukshetra
The Chief Minister said that everyone should emphasize ensuring the prosperity of Kurukshetra.
"You have to create an atmosphere of cleanliness here. When the environment becomes clean, our surrounding is clean. To achieve this we have to stay and work with unity. The values of morals of our rich culture have to be made familiar to the coming generation. The essence of the Gita has to be adopted into our life," said Sh. Manohar Lal.
MP, Sh. Nayab Saini, MLA, Sh. Subhash Sudha, Political Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Krishan Bedi, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti, Honorary Secretary, Kurukshetra Development Board, Sh. Madan Mohan Chhabra, Sant Samaj and representatives of religious organizations remained present on this occasion.
