Chandigarh, May 25: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today announced to give status of sub-tehsil to Mahendragarh’s Sihma village, while addressing a Jan Samvad programme at the village.
He said that e-tendering system will prove to be the foundation stone for the development of villages. “While this will bring transparency, the quality of the construction material used in the work will also be ensured,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that the government has fully empowered the sarpanches to get the development works done. He said that now all the work will be recorded in the system and the complete account of the development work can be easily maintained.
He said that the present state government has taken positive steps for the welfare of the people and has brought many radical changes in the system.
On power supply, the Chief Minister said that when the BJP government came to power in the year 2014, only 150 villages of the state had 24-hour power supply. “Taking positive steps, the present state government worked in this regard and decided to provide 24-hour power supply to villages that fulfill certain conditions. As a result, today 24-hour power supply is being ensured to 5600 villages of the state,” he addeed.
Government also decided to set up senior secondary schools at distance of 5 kms
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government while working towards the education sector has decided to open a girl’s college at a distance of 20 kilometres across the state. On these lines, it has also been decided to make provision of a senior secondary school within a radius of 5 kilometres in a bid to provide relief to the students from travelling long distances for education, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the Gram Darshan portal has also been started by the government to ensure rural development, which is a unique initiative in itself. He said that the state government has implemented various public welfare schemes including the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP). “Through PPP, citizens are automatically getting the benefits of the government schemes,” he added.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Om Parkash Yadav, MP Sh. Dharambir Singh and other dignitaries were present.
