Chandigarh, June 25– Taking note of the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal's unwavering commitment towards attracting foreign investment in the present scenario across the world by ensuring a conducive environment for the investors, Korean company Seoul Semiconductor has expressed interest in expanding its industrial unit in Haryana.
The Chief Minister was today participating in a virtual meeting with a high-level Korean delegation, including South Korean Ambassador to India, the President of the Federation of Korean Associations and representatives of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India and the top management of the Korean multinational company Seoul Semiconductor, here today.
Meanwhile, Seoul Semiconductor has handed over medical supplies such as masks, gloves and mobile air-purifiers to the state to augment its fight against ongoing pandemic. Expressing gratitude to the company on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Korea is and will always be an important partner in the socio-economic development of Haryana.
The Chief Minister said that South Korea is an important trade and investment partner for India. It is a matter of pride that Haryana is the industrial base for many South Korean multinational companies like Hyundai Motors, Lotte Foods, CJ Logistics Edition Motors.
He said that a single window system has been adopted in Haryana for setting up industries on which all approvals are easily obtained. He added that it is a matter of pride that this single window system of Haryana has been recognised as the best in India.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana ‘Karam Bhoomi’ and comprehensive steps have been taken in the direction of enterprise, opportunity, research and innovation. Haryana is counted among the most developed states of India. Haryana is a leading manufacturer of Cranes, Excavators, Cars, Two Wheelers, Shoes, Scientific Instruments etc.
The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana is growing everyday and achieving new milestones. He said that among the various business models like B2B, G2G, B2G, we believe in H2H model of work i.e. ‘Heart to Heart’.
The Chief Minister said a number of South Korean companies are keen on investing in Haryana, hence maintaining a healthy relationship becomes even more important for the State Government. He assured all possible cooperation from the State Government. Sh. Manohar Lal directed the officers of the Department of Foreign Cooperation to hold such important meetings at regular intervals.
On this occasion, the Ambassador of South Korea to India, Sh. Shin Bong Kil, appreciated the arrangements made by the State Government under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. He said that South Korea will continue to stand with India as a true friend and will extend a helping hand by providing urgent medical supplies related to COVID-19. In addition, several Korean companies doing business in India have also extended help during the second wave of Covid-19.
Sh. Shin Bong Kil said that India is performing better in the Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living Index and Haryana continues to excel in both these aspects. He said that Haryana is one of the favourite destinations of global investors. Taking advantage of the state's business friendly environment and policies, Korean companies have a strong hold in the state. He said that there are already many industrial units of Korean companies in Gurugram and in view of the industrial potential of Gurugram, Korean companies will expand their business rapidly in the coming future.
In the meeting, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Department of Foreign Cooperation, Sh. Yogender Chaudhary, Director General, Department of Foreign Cooperation, Sh. Anant Prakash Pandey, Advisor, Department of Foreign Cooperation, Sh. Pawan Chaudhary were present. The meeting was digitally attended by President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in India, Mr. E.D. Park, and the top managers of Seoul Semiconductor Company.
