Chandigarh, July 22 - Extending warm greetings to the countrymen on National Flag Adoption Day, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that July 22 is a very important day for every Indian in history.
No matter how many we are, in colour, caste or creed, but when we stand under the tricolour, we are one, Indian.
Today is the adoption day of the proud tricolor of India. I extend my warm greetings to the people of the state and the countrymen on this auspicious occasion. He said that with the inspiration of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, this year this day is being celebrated with more zeal across the country.
The Chief Minister said that our national flag was adopted on this day in the year 1947. The symbol of unity, integrity and sacrifice, our national flag 'Tiranga' inspires all of us to remain dedicated to the service of the motherland. The Chief Minister said that the Indian flag was earlier a symbol of the struggle for freedom from colonial rule and today it is a symbol of a free India. National Flag Adoption Day of India is an important national event which not only represents national pride but also sends a message to the outside world that India is free and capable to respond to any external oppression.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that this year when we are celebrating 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. We should strengthen the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement. All the countrymen should take a pledge to hoist the tricolor on the roof of their house from August 13-15. The Chief Minister said that the countrymen should unfurl the national flag with pride and during this time follow the code of the flag and let there be no loss in the pride of the tricolor. He said that the tricolor is the identity of 130 crore Indians, which also gives inspiration to everyone to do something for the country.
