Chandigarh, February 4: A day after Punjab and Haryana Court has announced to put an interim stay on the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020 that aims to provide 75% quota to locals in private sector jobs, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today said that the State Government has decided to move to Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s order. The hearing in the matter in the Supreme Court is fixed on Monday, February 7, 2022.
“Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020 is implemented to strive employment opportunities for Haryanavi youth, will defend the case strongly so as to secure future of Haryana's youth,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that Solicitor General, Sh. Tushar Mehta, who appeared for the Haryana government and had put the matter before the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana bench saying that he was given only 90 seconds to defend the State Government. Now the Supreme has scheduled the hearing for Monday, February 7, 2022.
