Chandigarh, February 28– The Haryana Engineering Works (HEW) portal launched by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal for inviting e-tenders for engineering works is proving to be highly effective. For the first time, the High Power Working Committee chaired by the Chief Minister for allotment of engineering works above Rs.10 crores, approved 4 projects of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority worth about Rs.155 crores, held here today.
The committee gave nod for the beautification of MG Road, the main road of Gurugram on the lines of Delhi's Lodhi Road. Service Lane, vendor zone and bus queue shelter from IFFCO Chowk to Sikandarpur Metro Station will also be given a facelift. Projects related to construction of 100 MLD STP at Dhanwapur, sub-stations at Basai and Behrampur were approved.
While interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister said that the HEW portal is a new experiment to carry out engineering works. A total saving of Rs. 2.62 crores was ensured through negotiations with the contractors, he added.
He informed that the work allocation agenda for 10 projects in Gurugram and Faridabad was kept for today's meeting. Out of these, 4 projects were approved. Due to some technical glitches, the remaining projects will be kept in the next meeting.
In response to a question regarding G-20, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride for the country that India has got the presidency of G-20. The meetings are to be held in Gurugram from March 1-4, 2023. He stated that he will in person attend these sessions. The Haryana government wants the delegates of all the G-20-member countries to depart with a positive impression of Haryana, he added.
The meeting was attended by Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. DS Dhesi, Chief Executive Officer of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
