Chandigarh, February 15 – On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, the Haryana Chief Minister inaugurated the extended building of Vivekanand Library at Maharshi Dayanand University campus in Rohtak today. Apart from this, Sh. Manohar Lal also laid the foundation stone of the building of Dayanand Center for Vedic and Yogic Studies and the University Institute of Public Health Sciences
Notably, an estimated cost of Rs 850 lakh has been incurred on the construction of the Vivekanand Library extended building. The building has a seating capacity of 346 students on the ground floor, 404 on the first floor and 378 on the second floor. Besides this, a separate reading facility has been provided for the faculty on the first floor. The building is fully air-conditioned. Laptop and mobile charging facilities are also available. A CCTV system has also been installed in the building. Apart from this, arrangements for public address system, lift facility, separate toilets for men and women on each floor and drinking water were also made in the building.
The Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Dayanand Center for Vedic and Yogic Studies. This centre will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 660 lakh. The centre has 4 classrooms for Vedic studies, a director's room, an office, 4 faculty rooms, a conference hall, a library hall, a store room and toilet facilities. Similarly, Yogic studies will also have the facilities of four classrooms, one director's room, one office, five faculty rooms, one yoga hall, one panchakarma, shatkarmas lab, and one store room etc.
Furthermore, an estimated cost of Rs 950 lakh will be incurred for the construction of the University Institute of Public Health Sciences. It will have facilities including 12 smart classrooms, 4 research/practical labs, one director's room, one office, one administrative office, 12 faculty rooms, three meeting rooms, 6 computer labs, and 3 seminar halls etc.
